The 2020 offseason is in motion and some players are enjoying with their family, whereas some have started their preparation for the 2021 season. World No.2 Rafael Nadal is preparing for 2021 as well as showcasing some attractive spots to visit in his hometown Mallorca.
Enjoying winter in Mallorca with family and friends, Nadal tweeted a photo highlighting the landscape attractions in Mallorca.
“In Mallorca, we can do sports and enjoy nature in winter at the same time. Lucky we are. This weekend I really enjoyed with family and friends these moments and these landscapes”
Rafael Nadal’s love for Mallorca
Mallorca is part of the Balearic Islands off the coast of Spain. Rafa’s coach and former World No.1 Carlos Moya is also from the Balearic Islands. A few months back, Nadal wrote the foreword for a book that highlighted the sporting heroes from the Balearic Islands.
“The book in your hands was born with a vocation to endure. To endure in time, to endure in memory, to endure as a testimony of efforts and sacrifices until the Balearic Islands, also in sport, are seen as the land of champions,” Nadal wrote.
Roger Federer has let slip words that are enough to send his legion of fans…
The book is called ‘Baleares Tierra de Campeones’ which translates to ‘Balearic Islands, Land of Champions’. With Nadal being the most successful sportsperson from the Balearic Islands, the writers of the book have dedicated two pages to the 20-time Grand Slam champion.

Nadal has started his preparation for the 2021 season as well. He is training at his academy in Mallorca.
“Back to work! I took a few days off after London and now back to the practice and routines,” wrote Nadal on Instagram.
The Australian Open 2021 begins on the 8th of February. Training is a key issue going towards the first tournament of 2021. With a 14-day quarantine and strict training timings expected in Australia, Nadal will have to use this offseason to prep up his game.
