Darren Till has been battling with injuries that have kept him out for a while. ‘The Gorilla’ was supposed to take on Jack Hermansson earlier this month in an exciting middleweight clash. However, a lingering knee injury ruled him out of his third fight at 185-pounds.
Till started his career in the UFC’s welterweight division. However, he moved up to middleweight in 2019 and is currently 1-1 in the division. This includes a win over Kelvin Gastelum and a defeat to the former champion Robert Whittaker.
“Don’t forget your wrestling kids”- Darren Till shares a message on Instagram
Darren Till took to Instagram to share a picture of his foot, swollen and bruised. The caption read, “Wrestling is f**king tough, but it is needed & essential for MMA. You want to stand up & smash your opponents? You need amazing wrestling defence. You want to take them down smash them, submit them, or whatever? You need amazing wrestling. Don’t forget your wrestling kids!!! P.S I’ve broke my foot this week, but more wrestling tomorrow again.”
Reports have emerged that middleweight Paulo Costa has been offered a fight against Robert Whittaker.…
It appears as though the former title challenger Till has injured himself in training as he recovers from a knee injury that kept him out of the fight.
‘The Gorilla’ is one of the most loved fighters in the UFC. His skills inside the octagon coupled with his personality make him a fan favorite. Till has had a decent start in his new weight division thus far. However, in a recent post on his social media, ‘The Gorilla’ revealed that he would be moving up in weight yet again.
While there is no official confirmation on it yet, a move up to light heavyweight might be a positive one for Till. This is a division that is lacking big names right now and has a new champion in Jan Blachowicz. It remains to be seen whether Till actually follows through on his comments. Either way, Darren Till is an interesting fighter to watch regardless of weight classes.
